Well, it happened again ;-) – a day of ocean effect snow and dreary grey skies began to clear right at 4:00pm.  I had to drop off my son somewhere so I grabbed my tripod and camera bag and decided to see if my luck might hold for a second evening.

I had a very hard time deciding where to shoot.  I drove across the causeway and back again, down State Street and over to Front Street before doubling back.  I finally ended up at the Landing and made my way over near the Harbormaster’s office.

From there I could shoot toward Marblehead Light and the causeway and noted some nicely structured clouds in the latter direction.  As soon as the sun dipped below the horizon, the clouds reflected the sun’s last lights and the sky exploded in color.

I composed the shot to include the working boats under a Winter sunset with snow visible on Marblehead Neck in the distance.
