I shared an image of the nearly full snow moon last night taken from Fort Beach and commented that I had little hope for capturing the full moon tonight. As luck would have it, I finished up work right at 5pm and was able to make it down to the State Street Landing by 5:29pm – 4 minutes before the moonrise.
I found two photographers already there ready to capture the beauty of a full moon rising over Marblehead Light and made my way a bit further down to see if I could line up this single boat out in mid-harbor with the track of the full moon. As the moon rose, I adjusted my positioning until I was able to line up the boat, lighthouse and full snow moon for this final image.
This is the third time I’ve shot the snow moon and the second time that it has come up over a snowless Marblehead…
