On this mid-June day, the temperatures had climbed and I was in charge of the children as my wife had a meeting to attend. After dinner, we piled in the car and headed to Lime Rickey’s for some ice cream and then immediately drove to Chandler Hovey park to enjoy it while hoping for a decent sunset. I spent the bulk of the night photographing my kids but took time to shoot this sailboat as it made its way to harbor. The light was reflecting off its sail and casting a further reflection in the water. I decided to shoot this ‘wide open’ at f/2 in order to give the shot a dreamy look where the boat was in focus and the rest fell away.
