On Thursday, August 11th, I headed out to Crocker Park to capture the last supermoon of the year. I had plotted out the sturgeon moon’s rise just to the left of the Eastern Yacht Club from this spot and decided to shoot from the benches on the small hill at the park to gain a bit of extra elevation and help separate the boats in the harbor.  This was a tough shot to get and required a wide open aperture to capture enough light for the final image.

As it turned out, I am currently working on my 2023 Marblehead calendar and had two candidates for the month of August but quickly added this as a third. Voting is underway on my Facebook and Instagram pages as I type this and I am not sure if this image will garner the most votes.  As I hadn’t had a chance to even title the shot yet, I opened that up to suggestions and received a great one from Linda Most. So here is Harbor Lights depicting a lit up Eastern Yacht Club and a rising full moon lighting up this section of Marblehead Harbor.

STAY TUNED: Wednesdays in Marblehead’s 12 year anniversary is coming up on Sunday and I am hoping to reveal plans for my new book. I’m going to run a Kickstarter campaign again and hope you are as excited as I am to see this book go to press.
