We had a great fast storm roll through on Friday with lightning and rain.  I arrived home from work just as the storm passed and ran inside to grab my camera.  I headed straight to Devereux hoping to catch a rainbow (though I had my doubts as the sun hadn’t yet popped up from behind the clouds).  As I drove into the parking lot, this is the sight I beheld.  A beautiful rainbow in the distance and an empty beach with great clouds and distant rain.

I jumped out of the car and ran down to the water.  I snagged a few images before realizing I had forgotten to put on the polarizing filter and, once I had that on, the rainbow really ‘popped’.  I took a few photos down near the water and some more from Lime Rickeys.  This was my favorite of the set.  The water had just the right amount of foam, the rainbow couldn’t have been in a better place, the causeway and lampposts are in the distance, there’s a bird in just the right spot and, if you look really carefully, you can just make out the double rainbow to the right!
