I was trying to decide on an image to share today and started looking at the ‘to be posted’ folder of images.  As I worked my way down the list with the windows open and the cool air coming in, I knew that I needed to find an image that exemplified the end of Summer in Marblehead.  Though the leaves have started to turn colors, this small burst of Summer-like weather had put me back in that frame of mind.

As soon as I clicked on this image, I knew it would be perfect.  This was taken on July 31st from a friend’s boat as we were finishing up a last-minute boat ride around Marblehead.  We had just heard the cannons fire in the harbor and were motoring around to the mooring in Salem.  As we passed Crocker Park and this float, I saw kids being kids and enjoying one of the many incredibly unique experiences of growing up in this town.  I captured this image as the sun dipped below the trees and found the kids in various states of activity.  Just seemed like a perfectly frozen representation of Summer in Marblehead.
