For a while, I would share long exposure images on Tuesdays. That theme hasn’t been as active as in months past but, at the end of June, I had a chance to capture a long exposure image at sunset and I thought I would share it today.
This was at the tail end of an incredibly vibrant sunset that took place over 45 minutes and had me driving to three different locations. I had thought the show was finished and was driving toward the causeway when I looked to my right and saw this scene. I quickly turned around, parked, ran out of the car and composed the image you see here.
With the sun having set more than thirty minutes previously, I was left with little light to work with. I decided to adjust the ISO and aperture so that the shutter speed was stretched out to five seconds and would serve to turn the already calm waters in Marblehead Harbor into a mirror thus reflecting the colors of sunset.
