On Saturday evening, I picked up me son from a playdate and noted the cloud cover as we drove home.  The day had brought with it a break from the dull gray skies that had covered Marblehead for what seemed like weeks and the clouds now seemed to be breaking up in time for sunset.  As we approached the house, I told him we were going to take a quick detour to Devereux Beach to see if I was right about the coming sunset.  I grabbed the camera bag and tripod, he grabbed a toy assault rifle and we were off.

Within minutes of arriving, I knew my hunch had been correct.  I started off shooting near the water’s edge toward Goldthwait with the sun rapidly descending over the houses along the shore.  As soon as the sun disappeared, the sky took on magnificent tones and I took turns shooting toward Marblehead Neck and face on as the Atlantic Ocean brought wave after wave to shore.

I have a few images to share from this brief outing but none matched this one for a picture perfect sunset.
