Sunday’s arctic air resulted in a display of sea smoke the likes of which I had never seen before in Marblehead.  The display kept me busy capturing various compositions as the wind and light changed to drastically alter the scene before me.

On Monday, I shared a wide view of the sun just rising over the cloud of sea smoke and setting a nearby patch aglow.  Exactly five minutes after that scene, this one appeared.

The sun had risen enough to clear the smoke at the horizon and it created the most incredible backlighting for the tendrils of sea smoke forming in Marblehead harbor.  While this is a very similar wide view to Monday’s image, I did have to rotate the camera to include more of the Neck and angle away from the overpowering sun.

Hope no one is getting tired of these images – four down, at least nine more to go…
