As the boats begin to fill the harbor, I can’t help but think ahead to the Summer months with boats filling the harbor and plenty of opportunities to shoot sunsets over the water.

Today’s image was taken on June 24, 2015 during a very nice sunset that led to a number of ‘keepers’.  I was shooting along the causeway and the wind would pick up every so often disturbing the water in the harbor.  There were a few patches of water that seemed to be protected from the effects of the wind and, as the sky filled with color, these pools of light in Marblehead Harbor formed.

The calm waters also served to mirror the masts of ships moored in the harbor to break up the patches of brilliant light.
