We were having a fairly quiet Saturday night and had little to eat in the house so orders were called in to Junji for sushi and Marblehead House of Pizza for a small pie. As I looked at the sky starting to pick up the first colors of sunset, I quickly volunteered to pick up the food and knew just the spot to spend the 15-20 minute wait while the food was prepared.
Parker Lane is the first public way on Marblehead Neck as you cross the causeway and has become a go-to spot on many evenings. I pulled up to this familiar scene on Saturday night just as the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky began to explode in colors that were reflected in the still waters of Marblehead Harbor. I shot quite a few images from the top of the wooden stairs leading down to the water and then headed back to the car as the light began to fade.
When I turned back for one more look, I saw the colors had deepened and quickly set up for this one last shot encompassing the huge overhanging tree and the granite bench along this public way.
