I was at my office in Salem today when I started to notice the light change and took a quick peak at the webcams lining Marblehead harbor to find an incredible combination of fog and light developing. I was stuck til 5pm and with sunset before 4:30 I could only sit and watch the sunset unfold.
With that in mind, I wanted to revisit my foggy shots in my ‘to be published’ folder and immediately stopped at this one captured on July 5, 2016. One of my all time favorite outings with countless ‘keepers’ took place on this night. At this point, I had moved a bit from my prior spots along Chandler Hovey Park’s cliff edge and lined up an image of boats moored in the harbor and Old North Church rising above the layer of fog.
There’s something about those humid days and foggy nights that creates incredible photo opportunities.
beautiful image.
You take the most amazing photos. I’m getting ready to retire. Bought myself a camera and once I figure out which buttons to hit will attempt to take some scenery and bee butt photos.
Beautiful
The glint of sun on the left front boat, and the clear church spire, anchor this photo so well, leaving the mist to pull you in…
Beautiful
Beautiful!! Warm and cozy!!!
looks familiar
The five sharp, horizontal, black wavelets at the bottom of image contrast nicely with the indistinct fog. I like the photo’s glow and sense of depth.
Enchanting…
