After an impossible amount of snow fall, it seemed that the sky would never clear from its dreary grey.  But, as I finished shoveling our driveway, I noted a bit of sky poking out near the horizon.  I quickly walked into the house and up the stairs for a better view and, sure enough, blue sky could be seen in all directions under the clouds.  I figured there was a chance that the clearing would hold and the sunset would reflect off the clouds above and the freshly fallen snow that has piled up throughout the town – and so I made my way out to Crocker Park.

Once there I found the going difficult and slowly made my way to my favorite vantage point.  I shot as the sun set and then watched in awe as the sky erupted in color.

I composed this image to allow the fresh snow to act as a reflector and bring out some of the color in the sky.  As a hard worn path could be seen extending from my perch, I decided that it looked a lot like some was trodding toward the sunset at Crocker Park.
