On a late June morning and after shooting the sun rise over the harbor, I made my way to the landing to check for any good photo opportunities. As I mad my way down the ramp to one of the floating docks, I noticed the sun was about to rise immediately behind the American flag. I quickly set about composing this shot and liked the balance of the lobster traps in the foreground with the lighthouse and boats in the harbor serving as backdrop. The sky still held some good color and the flag did a great job of keeping the sunlight from overwhelming the scene.
