On July 16, a friend took me out on his boat for a two hour excursion around the waters of Marblehead. I have only shared one image from that trip thus far (there are 15 more after today’s post left to go). For today’s image, I decided to follow up on yesterday’s calm reflected sunset view with this brighter and bolder view of a sunset from the water.
We had made our way around Naugus Head and Fluen Point and then crossed over to explore the back of Tinkers before heading out to Bakers Island. As we made our way back toward Marblehead waters with the goal of entering Marblehead harbor, I spotted the sun dipping below the clouds. We slowed at this point and I waited until Abbot Hall came into view in the distance just over the rocks of Chandler Hovey Park. The light was perfect and I grabbed several shots hoping at least one would come out sharp.
This was my favorite from the set. It’s amazing just how many vantage points there are in this town from which to view the sun set. That begs the question…where do you prefer to watch the sun go down?
