Last week’s exercise of bringing out photos that were in the archive was so much fun, I thought I would do the same for this week.  This image was captured on September 19, 2013 as I waited for the Harvest Moon to rise over Marblehead harbor.  I had happened upon a singular opportunity to photograph the rising moon from atop a house overlooking the harbor and wasted no time in capturing images as soon as I climbed up to the roof and saw this view laid out before me.

The harbor had been relatively still (though full) when I first saw this view and then, as I composed this image, I spotted two boats nearing each other.  The image of passing boats in Marblehead harbor with their small wakes spreading out behind them was too perfect to pass up.  As it turned out, the image of the Harvest Moon rising a few minutes later quickly pushed this image down in the queue and thus it is only seeing the light of day as we make our way through the Winter and begin to hope for warmer days ahead and time spent in the waters of Marblehead harbor.
