Back to the incredible display of sea smoke in Marblehead Harbor that took place on January 8, 2015. This image was captured on my first round at Foster Street (I would come back after capturing the sun rise at Castle Rock before racing to work). I had just photographed the sea smoke in the harbor with a purple sky over Abbot Hall and turned to find the sea smoke was even thicker looking out toward the Corinthian Yacht Club with Marblehead Light towering behind it.
The wind was moving the sea smoke off the water and it took a few frames to capture the smoke at its thickest during a slight lull in the wind gusts. As the sun had not yet risen, Marblehead Light’s green beacon still shone.
I mentioned before that the -4F temps (not counting the wind chill) allowed me to witness the sea smoke in Marblehead Harbor for the first time. I hope you agree this was quite a sight to behold.
