This Spring has certainly seen an odd start with bursts of snow and whole weeks lost to rain. Last week as yet another rainy day came to an end, the clouds which had been so solid for much of the day began to break up and offered the first chance in weeks of a decent sunset. As sunsets now take place after 7pm, I was able to head out after work and dinner at home to Crocker Park in the hopes of catching some good light reflecting off the clouds over Marblehead harbor.
I arrived at Crocker Park to find that the clouds had broken up into a perfect structure for reflecting the last light of sunset. As I watched, one cumulous cloud to the right began to glow as pink light formed behind Marblehead Neck and the lighthouse. I composed this image to capture as much of the good light as I could and used the boats in the harbor as a means of breaking up the still waters.
Enjoy Patriots Day and for all those running the Boston Marathon today – Good Luck!
