On Friday night, I headed out to Crocker Park hoping that the coming Nor’Easter might produce a nice sunset while also fearing it was my last chance to capture foliage in town. I found little cloud cover over the harbor and quickly ascended the granite hill and set up for this composition of Abbot Hall and the unique view of houses stacked against it. I spotted some color in the trees on either side and waited for the sunset colors to elevate the rest of the scene.
Happy Halloween everyone!
When I see this, I think of all the people I knew 50 years ago who lived in the houses, like the Al and Libby Backofen and Samuel and Narcissa Chamberlain.
So many memories growing up!

Simply gorgeous ??
That’s a awesome picture of Abbot Hall and the sunset. I’ve been trying to figure out where in town to incorporate abbot hall and a sunset or sunrise.
