I had little hope for capturing this year’s Harvest moon. The thick clouds these past few days and today’s rain made me think that this year’s attempt would be a wash…literally. A funny thing happened at 5pm as I milled around with the kids and neighbors outside, the sun came out and the clouds disappeared. I quickly thought of places from which I might ‘shoot the moon’ and headed out to Crocker Park.
I got there right at 6:25pm with a moon rise scheduled for 6:27. I was thrilled to see that the main tree had started to show off it’s Fall colors with hints of yellow. I decided to compose my shot to include the tree and help place the time of year. I moved around to get the lighthouse, bench and moon lined up just right. In case you missed it, hope you enjoy my take on the Harvest Moon.
Please note: I will not be posting the next few days as I make my way up to Vermont to shoot some foliage. See you again later on in the week…
