By popular demand – an image of the full moon rise from Fort Sewall captured on July 11, 2014.  When I go out to shoot, I will often return with several images that I want to share.  Such was the case with the full moon rise of July 11-12.  On that first night, I had hoped for a new composition of the moon rising over Chandler Hovey Park as seen from Fort Sewall and achieved that when I used the leaves of the great tree at the Fort to frame this shot.

However, moments later, the Glover’s Regiment began their march to fire a salute at sunset and I was able to capture the timeless photo of two members marching under the light of the full moon.  That image of the full moon was quickly trumped by the photo the following night in which the moon was captured just as it crossed over Marblehead Light.  And so, this image of the moon rise was relegated to the archive (to join the 500 other images residing there).

Last night, I couldn’t decide whether to share a recent image from that fog-filled sunset over Marblehead Harbor or one of the moon rise and this was the overwhelming choice.  I’ll share the foggy sunset ones in the days to come…
