Got up early on Columbus Day in anticipation of another drive up to VT or NH to catch some foliage.  I had driven up to both in the past week and had been disappointed in the leaves this year (most are already on the ground).  Instead, I decided to head out to our local ponds.  First stop was Redds and the sun was climbing at just the right angle in the sky for a sunburst/sun star peeking through the leaves.  Just a hint of foliage to enjoy as well.  I was too excited to wait til Wednesday to post this one.  In fact, watch for the next pond photo later in the week…

Technical: Canon 50D and EF-S 17-55mm 2.8 lens at f/22.  6 exposure bracket.

Below are the ducks that crossed in front of me and added to the scene just prior to the sun rising.
