Welcome to Children’s Island

On October 22nd, the YMCA held a Fall festival on Children's Island. I grabbed the kids and my camera and made my way to The Landing where the Hannah Glover ship ferried us over. There were games to be played, hay rides to take and a great island to explore. We made our way over to the Arts and Crafts cabin for a bit of hot cider, donuts and painting. Over the Rainbow

The same storm that brought about the reflection shots of the lighthouse also produced a rainbow over Children's Island. I had raced out of the house after the storm blew by in hopes of catching a rainbow and got to the parking lot at Chandler Hovey park just as the sun peeked through the clouds. The location of the rainbow was perfect - it was an unusually flat one likely due to the angle of the sun - and neatly covered Children's Island. The rainbow lasted only a few minutes and I felt lucky to have captured it.
