For good or bad, this Winter without snow is forcing me to go back into the archives to try to remember what Winter should feel like. I had taken this photo in early January 2011 after a snow storm had blanketed the town in a fresh coat of the white stuff. In fact, this photo was taken shortly after the one of kids playing hockey at Redds pond.
This is a panorama of a 3 shot series merged together and processed to bring out the soft light of a Winter sunset. The lone boat in the foreground, the edges of Brown’s Island on the left and Gerry Island on the right and the lighthouse in the distance lead the eye through the image with snow helping reflect the great light. I’m going to keep looking for more snow shots from the past to share as we suffer through the warm Winter.
