Storm’s A Coming

I mentioned in yesterday's post that I had gone out to Crocker Park on that Wednesday at dawn hoping for a bit of red sky that might precede the coming storm. In the wide view I shared, the hints of red could only be seen close to the horizon. Remembering the Sunrise

It's been over three months since I last woke up in the pre-dawn hours to chase a sunrise. For the most part, the last month has offered little in the way of good light to make up for any lost sleep. Chandler Hovey Sunrise

Wake Up Call

Two great sunrises in a row! So I wasn't entirely sure if it was worth setting an alarm for 5:30am again. An Empty Harbor Awaits

After getting out to shoot for the first time in weeks on Sunday, I awoke early this morning and checked the weather to see if the sunrise might be worth another outing. Little Harbor Dawn

The light really doesn't get much better than this view of Little Harbor at dawn... On Saturday, December 12th, I woke before the dawn and headed down to Little Harbor hoping the old adage 'red sky in morning, sailor take warning' might prove true with predictions of strong rains later in the day. Nirvana

This is my favorite time of year for sunrise shoots. The sun rises at 7:15am usually with mild temperatures and the frequent storms often bring great light. With yet another storm forecast for Thursday afternoon, I figured conditions were absolutely perfect for a vibrant sunrise. Early Riser

Not one to leave well enough alone, I set my alarm for 4am on Saturday morning hoping for another opportunity to capture the comet Neowise.
