Top 10 of 2017 – #8 Fireworks over Marblehead Harbor

Marblehead's Annual Fireworks display became an instant favorite and 'must shoot' event when we moved to Marblehead in 2008. Since then, I've shot the fireworks from various angles and locations. Independence Day in Marblehead

I hope no one is tired of images from Independence Day in Marblehead. Having decided to shoot from the Pleon pier this year, I had almost too many vantage points from which to capture the incredible display. I shared my favorite shot of fireworks and an image of the harbor illumination but in this image, I was able to capture both (plus an illuminated Marblehead Light as a bonus). Fireworks over Marblehead Harbor

Earlier today, I shared images taken during past fireworks shows and realized there was a perfect spot on the Neck from which I could capture this year's fireworks over Marblehead harbor. I made sure to scout out this spot at the Pleon Yacht Club earlier in the day during high tide to figure out compositions that would be available tonight. Marblehead Fireworks and Harbor Illumination

As soon as last night's spectacular fireworks show over Marblehead harbor ended, I rushed home and eagerly looked through images trying to find the biggest and best timed explosion of color. Fireworks over Marblehead Harbor

Since moving to Marblehead in 2008, I've gone out each year to capture the incredible fireworks show put on each Fourth of July. At this point, I've shot from Chandler Hovey Park, Fort Sewall, Little Harbor, Crocker Park and the cupola of a private residence. Top 10 of 2015 – Marblehead Fireworks – The Grand Finale

In any other year, this image of the grand finale of Marblehead's fireworks show set against Marblehead Light would have easily captured my #1 spot. For this year's show, my family was invited to close friend's new home on the Neck and I quickly found my way up to their cupola. From their I was able to capture this unique image looking down at the lighthouse and the beautiful fireworks display erupting over Marblehead harbor. The image of Marblehead fireworks above Marblehead Light reaches #3 on my Top 10 of 2015 Countdown.

Marblehead Fireworks – The Grand Finale

There's a danger in looking at images and sharing them too quickly after an event. On the Fourth of July, I raced home from Marblehead Neck on my bicycle passing bumper to bumper traffic on the causeway. Harbor Illumination on the Fourth of July

This year's Fourth of July celebration was a whirlwind event during which I participated in my first Artisans Marketplace and learned that I had won Peoples Choice Award in the Festival of Arts Photography exhibit. Marblehead Fireworks on the Fourth of July

What an incredible Fourth of July! I took part in the Artisans Marketplace at Abbot Hall on Saturday from 10am until 5pm and felt like half the town stopped by to look at prints, buy books or just introduce themselves.
