Ferris Wheel on the Last Night of the Carnival

The 2013 Marblehead High School Senior carnival came into town on Thursday and, as is always the case, brought with it cold and a bit of rain to break up the warm Spring days we had been enjoying up til then. The weather improved over the weekend and the carnival seemed better attended than recent years. Something Wicked this Way Comes – Carnival at Devereux Beach

The Carnival is Coming! I have to say that this is one of my favorite Marblehead traditions...the Senior Carnival at Devereux Beach. Not only is it a great subject to photograph but it's amazing to bring my kids to now and know that they'll return here for years to come. Riding the Chair Swing at the Devereux Carnival

The carnival has come and gone but not before I managed a few new images of the fun. I had this image in mind as soon as the first postings went up about the carnival coming back to Devereux beach. Unfortunately rain and fog interfered with those plans - that is until the very last day. From the Rooftops – Devereux Beach Carnival

The Senior High Carnival took place on Devereux Beach a bit earlier this year and, as expected, it rained...and rained. From Thursday through Saturday we had either rain, thick fog or just raw conditions that made for less than ideal conditions for a carnival. The Carnival Comes to Town

Every May, the carnival takes over Devereux beach as a fundraiser for the senior class. Without fail, rain always follows. It was with astonishment then that I saw the clouds clear way and the sun take form over the carnival grounds. A bit of smooth-talking got me a pass from the carnies to the top of the Super Slide and a unique vantage point from which to shoot. Two additional shots follow below.
