Fall Regatta at Redds Pond

Yesterday, I drove around town looking for hints of Fall foliage. I hit all of my favorite trees from last year and found that many were still in the early stages of turning. As I drove up Pond Street, I happened upon a great regatta taking place at Redds Pond. I decided this was too great a scene to pass up. The International Free Sail Pond Regatta hits Redds Pond

Yesterday was the first day of the US-UK International Free Sail pond yacht regatta. It was a beautiful windy and warm October day to watch these boats sail along Redds pond. You couldn't ask for a more picturesque scene! The sailing continues today so make sure you head down there to watch this competition.

Hockey Night at Redds Pond

A picturesque frozen pond and kids playing a pick-up game of hockey...you really can't ask for a more quintessential New England scene! I took my kids skating for their first time on Redds earlier in the day and promptly went out to purchase my first pair of skates (no real need for those when you grow up in LA). After the Blizzard in Marblehead

The blizzard of 2010 has come and gone leaving about 18" of snow in Marblehead. After digging out and sledding with the kids, I took a drive around town and captured these images. Technical: All taken with Canon 50D and EF-S 10-22 lens. +1 EV.

Regatta at Redd’s Pond

Every weekend from March through November, the Marblehead Model Yacht Club sails their boats on Redd's pond. The boats are incredible scale reproductions. I was lucky enough to visit Redd's with my son during one of their regattas and captured this shot near the end of the race as the boat came to 'shore'. The fall colors were an added bonus. Techical: Canon 50D and EF-S 17-55 lens. Single exposure.

Sunburst at Redd’s Pond

Got up early on Columbus Day in anticipation of another drive up to VT or NH to catch some foliage. I had driven up to both in the past week and had been disappointed in the leaves this year (most are already on the ground). Instead, I decided to head out to our local ponds.
