Chestnut Tree at Crocker Park

I wanted to share something other than a harbor scene and found this image of the chestnut tree at Crocker Park in my archive. I had gone out at the end of May to Crocker Park only to find this tree in full bloom. The blossoms kept me busy trying to find compositions from every angle. In the end, I had three favorites and shared two in the Spring. Here is the final image of the chestnut tree in full bloom at Crocker Park. I wonder if its leaves have changed colors for Fall yet...

The Float at Crocker Park

I was at Crocker Park at sunset during a high tide and couldn't pass up the chance to photograph the float beckoning people to enjoy Marblehead Harbor's waters on a warm Summer evening. The float at Crocker Park was taken in before the recent storm passed through town. Does anyone know if it was put back in place yet?

Diving at Dusk

On Wednesday night, I had headed out to Crocker Park as sunset neared hoping for some good light to shine behind Abbot Hall. While the light built up to a peak looking back toward town, I kept looking over my shoulder at the developing golden glow on Marblehead Harbor. Marblehead Concerts at Crocker Park

One of the best parts of the annual Marblehead Festival of Arts is the concert series that takes place each day in Crocker Park. Beginning Friday before sunset, this year's Concerts at Crocker Park kicks off with jazz. The music continues day and night throughout the Fourth of July weekend. Under the Spreading Chestnut Tree

I shared an image of the full canopy of this blooming Chestnut tree at Crocker Park the other day. Immediately after taking that image, I moved around to a familiar spot and set about composing this shot of Abbot Hall against a perfect May sunset from under the spreading Chestnut tree. I couldn’t have asked for better light as I clicked the shutter and was thrilled with the final image showcasing the unique pyramidal flowers of the Chestnut tree against the familiar landmark of Abbot Hall. Blooming Chestnut Tree Aglow at Sunset

On Saturday night, my wife, son and I took the dog out to Crocker Park for an impromptu picnic dinner (my daughter was at a friend's house). Budding Trees under Purple Skies

After capturing the image shared earlier this week at Crocker Park, I headed up the path and toward my car. As I looked over my shoulder, I found this scene before me and decided I needed to capture at least one more image of the purple skies over Marblehead Harbor. Sunset After the Storm at Crocker Park

Once in a while, a snow storm departs just as the sun begins to set leading to perfect conditions and incredible light. Such was the case on this day one year ago - February 10, 2015 - when one of the countless storms departed as the sun began to set. Top 10 of 2015 – Trodding Toward Sunset at Crocker Park

At #4 in the Top 10 of 2015 Countdown is the clearest view yet of the incredible snowfall that started off 2015. By February 10 when this image was taken, Marblehead was well on its way to record breaking quantities of snow with a first (for me) of having to dump some of it into the harbor. Sunset in the Snow

The past week in Marblehead featured some incredible sunrises and sunsets and, for a variety of reasons, I missed every single one of them. I got to enjoy a few while home with the family but was never in position to capture one. I decided to look through my 'to be posted' archive for vibrant sunsets and stopped at this image captured on February 10th of this year.
