As mentioned on Monday's post, here is a panorama of Gerry and Brown's Island at sunset with an added view of the homes along Front Street. At low tide, this path emerges from the water and allows for passage to the island.
I had the opportunity to shoot Gerry Island a few weeks ago and managed to choose a night when the sun set near low tide. I watched as the path emerged from the water and formed a gentle S curve to guide the eye to the small island. Watch for a panorama view of this scene on Wednesday showing Little Harbor, Brown's Island and the homes along Front Street.

With Gerry Island in the news recently [Reporter Patch], it seemed an appropriate time to post this shot taken a few weeks ago. I had wanted to return to Fort Sewall and shoot this image of Gerry Island for a while but was struggling with getting the mood just right. The way the fog rolled in and blanketed the island on this day seemed just about perfect. Haven't had a chance to post this week. Have been working on some shots of Ware and Oliver ponds but they aren't quite ready yet. So I figured I would go to a shot from the week prior when I drove by little harbor on the way to Waterside Cemetery in hopes of finding some foliage. I had to stop when I saw this scene before me. So technically this is just on the outskirts of Marblehead as you cross into Salem. I had been meaning to capture this area for a while but could never get all the elements in place…until today. Nice subdued light, bit of fog off the water and little to no wind to ruin the reflections. Technical: Canon 50D and 70-200 f/4 IS. 5 bracket HDR by 1 exposure steps
