Little Harbor

Haven't had a chance to post this week. Have been working on some shots of Ware and Oliver ponds but they aren't quite ready yet. So I figured I would go to a shot from the week prior when I drove by little harbor on the way to Waterside Cemetery in hopes of finding some foliage. I had to stop when I saw this scene before me. Abbot and the Boats

Not much time left to shoot a full harbor with Abbot Hall in the background. Took advantage of a morning shoot on the Neck to get this shot in. Technical: Canon 50D and EF-S 17-55mm lens. Three exposure bracket.

Sun Rays over Fort Sewall

Driving home from work last week, I noticed an incredible blue sky developing to the east and replacing the gray that had been present for days. Grabbed my gear and headed straight to Front Street and then Fort Sewall. The sun was placed perfectly to get these great rays coming through the tree and helping illuminate Marblehead Harbor. Storm in the Harbor

We've had three days of nonstop rain that left us with a surf advisory today. There was a short letup of the rain just as high tide approached and I made my way down to Front Street to see if I could capture the power of the storm using the background of Marblehead harbor. The initial shot was a bit flat due to the lighting conditions so this is a tonemapped version of my favorite shot from the excursion. Technical: Canon 50D and EF-S 17-55/2.8 IS lens. Foggy Morning over Salem Harbor

So technically this is just on the outskirts of Marblehead as you cross into Salem. I had been meaning to capture this area for a while but could never get all the elements in place…until today. Nice subdued light, bit of fog off the water and little to no wind to ruin the reflections. Technical: Canon 50D and 70-200 f/4 IS. 5 bracket HDR by 1 exposure steps
