Good Speed and the Corinthian Yacht Club

Here is another image from the boat tour around Marblehead that took place on July 16th. By now we had made our way into Marblehead harbor and the light was really picking up. Riding the Launch at Sunset in Marblehead Harbor

After photographing the cannon firing at sunset from the Corinthian Yacht Club, I headed back to where I had parked on Corinthian Lane and marveled at the remaining colors of sunset as they slowly faded over Marblehead harbor. I setup the camera to capture this scene and the great solitary cloud formation at the edge of the frame when I noted the launch setting out from the Corinthian Yacht Club. I quickly adjusted my settings and captured the added element of people in this landscape scene which ended up being my favorite capture of the set. Hope you agree.

Firing the Cannon at Sunset from the Corinthian Yacht Club

Last week I shared an image of the cannon being fired at sunset from a yacht club. Marblehead Harbor Starting to Fill with Boats

Long Exposure – Corinthian Dock and the Mooring

On this Long Exposure Tuesday, I decided to share an image taken in early April 2012. Long Exposure – Under the Corinthian

This past Saturday started off with boring blue skies but the weather report promised incoming clouds. I decided to head out in the hopes of capturing the clouds as they came in and use a long exposure technique to show their movement. The Corinthian and the Harbor

At the corner of Kimball and Nahant Streets lies a small parking spot and an overlook. The tide was going out and I was struck by the great lines of the Corinthian Yacht Club juxtaposed against the harbor, a great cloud and Abbot Hall in the background. Then I noticed the seagull perched on the roof and knew I had to capture this image.

Out for a Sail

Last Wednesday, we were invited out for an evening sail by some good friends. While I spent half the time shooting my wife, kids and surrogate parents/grandparents on the boat, I didn't miss the chance to photograph our town from the water. After all, this is a sailing town!
