Preston Beach, Marblehead, MA

On the same day that I captured yesterday's image of the last light on a harbor filled with boats, I had gone out to explore a few other areas in town with a birds eye view. Last Light on a Full Harbor

As I was finalizing my image choices for this year's Marblehead Calendar, I struggled with the options I had to best represent August. Star of the Sea

Last week, as I flew my drone to capture images of a baseball game at Seaside Park, I also noted the Star of the Sea church and its lush border of trees. I had never appreciated from the ground just how many trees cover this area of land along Atlantic Avenue. Optis Racing during Marblehead Junior Race Week

Marblehead Junior Race Week took place this week and between the weather and work, I hadn't had a chance to shoot any images of the Optis racing off Marblehead harbor. Baseball by the Harbor at Seaside Park

When I drove down Atlantic Avenue on Sunday and spotted the sign for a Seasiders baseball game set to start at 5pm, I decided to return with my Phantom 4 Pro and capture the view of baseball by the harbor at Seaside park. Golden Masts in Marblehead Harbor

This seemed like a good image to finish off the week with a view of golden masts in Marblehead Harbor reflecting the last glow of sunset. I had gone out on June 22nd in the hopes of capturing a nice sunset and was treated to a very nice pink-orange one. Looking toward Barnegat

Piers of Gold in Marblehead Harbor

I apologize if the Sting song 'Fields of Gold' becomes stuck in your head when reading this image title but Piers of Gold just fit too well to pass up. This is the third image shared so far from last Thursday's flight over Marblehead Harbor. As the sun dipped lower toward the horizon, the golden hour washed Marblehead Neck in perfect light. I maneuvered the Phantom 4 Pro over these two docks and composed the image to include the Neck circling toward the Corinthian and Marblehead Light beyond while including the boats in the harbor reflecting the light of sunset.

Castle Rock on Marblehead Neck

This image of Castle Rock on Marblehead Neck was captured on Wednesday, June 20th shortly after I shot the wider panorama encompassing the whole of the Neck. While the panorama afforded a birds eye view of the Neck and harbor beyond, I really like this close up of Castle Rock for its unique view of the rocky outcropping. For all the times I have shot from atop the rock or used it in a composition, this view of the rock itself has eluded me.
