Of Sailboats, Landmarks and Marblehead Harbor seen from Children’s Island

At the end of July, we went out to Children's Island where my son was spending two weeks at camp. I shared an image taken from aboard the Hannah Glover previously but had kept this one taken from the island. Sunset at Marblehead Light

With over 300 images in the queue waiting to see the light of day, I thought I would go to the bottom of the pile and see what I was out shooting four years ago. This image of Marblehead Light and a great sunset jumped out at me. There is something about that green glow against the deep blue sky that just 'fits'. Turns out it was taken almost exactly four years ago - Sept 9, 2009. Seemed like a good shot to start the week.

Once in a Blue Moon

I headed out last night in hopes of capturing a nice full moon rising over Marblehead harbor. I had tried to decide where to shoot from and ended up at Lovis Cove with a borrowed super telephoto lens on a cloudless night. Morning Comes to Crocker Park

I've shared a few images from this dawn photoshoot that took place in the first week of August. As I mentioned, the light changed so dramatically in the hour before sunrise (the so-called blue hour) that I ended up with 9 favorites from the session. Heading Out to Fish in Marblehead

There seem to be two types of people that are fortunate to regularly witness the beauty of a Marblehead dawn and sunrise - photographers and fishermen. An Incredible Dawn from Crocker Park

On Saturday, August 3rd, I woke at 4:45am for no good reason. My first instinct was to grab the iPhone and figure out cloud cover, sunrise time and location before even considering going back to bed. Sunset View from the Water – Marblehead Lighthouse and Harbor

A Gaggle of Optis at Marblehead Junior Race Week

On Wednesday morning, I headed out to drop off a framed print for a customer and then made my way out to the Pleon Yacht Club in hopes of catching the Optis heading out as part of Marblehead Junior Race Week. Turning the Corner at Brown’s Island

Last week, a good friend took me out on his boat. We started off at Salem Harbor and explored the outer shores of Marblehead and the Neck. By 7pm, we were approaching Brown's Island via Doliber Cove. As we headed in, Brown's Island rotated and the sky opened up and I was given this perfect scene of golden light with Marblehead Lighthouse seen in the distance.
