The Surfer on Devereux Beach

On November 3rd, the same night during which I captured the causeway and harbor under great light and a clammer in the ocean, I also found this guy surfing in the waters off Devereux Beach. As he came out of the water around sunset, I found the human element added greatly to the view of Marblehead Neck beyond. I captured this frame with the surfboard parallel to the ground and reflecting some light which helped focus the viewers eye on the relatively small surfer and thereby add a sense of scale to the scene beyond. Clamming on Devereux Beach at Sunset

On November 3rd, I had decided to try to capture one of the incredible strings of sunsets that had been forming (and that I had been missing for various reasons). Summer Swim Under the Light of the Moon

As the days get cooler, I can't let go of these Summer images. This particular one came from mid-July when I was fortunate to capture great wispy clouds reflecting the pink light of sunset over Devereux Beach. The ocean was warm enough at this point for people to be captured in silhouette swimming in the waters. Can't really beat the feeling of a warm Summer night spent at Devereux Beach.

Rays of Light over Goldthwait Beach

Continuing with the great light featured this week, this is a shot from the afternoon of Sept 13th. Storms seem to be missing us to the north and south on this particular day and I headed out in hopes of capturing the storms from a distance. Heading Down to Gas House Beach

The morning of June 12th ended up being a very busy one and would result in a number of different images being shared on this site. Foggy Morning in Marblehead Day 5 – Fort Beach and Fort Sewall

An hour and a half after starting this photo shoot on a foggy morning, I finally tore myself away from Marblehead Harbor and drove off in search of other vantage points. Life’s A Beach in Marblehead, MA

As the nights get colder and the air dryer, thoughts start to turn from Summer toward the coming Fall. The Lifeguard Chair on Devereux Beach

Summer Sunset at Devereux Beach

This Summer has offered one incredible sunset after another. This image from July 15th came about when I was out in search of long exposure images at Devereux Beach [LINK to that image].
