Tendrils on the Neck and Tinker’s Island in Storm Light

On Friday, the grey skies that had dominated for days on end finally threatened to break. As I drove home after work, I noted some dramatic skies with amazing cloud formations taking shape and decided to head out as soon as I could. Sunset over Rams and Tinkers Island

While this image was not taken during the same outing as the four others shared this week, it was also taken on that same Wednesday in Marblehead. Day 4 – Curling Waves at Devereux Beach

Ram Island Surrounded by Sea Smoke

On Wednesday morning, I woke up early and hoped to capture some sea smoke. Unfortunately, it wasn't quite cold enough and I had to settle for a pretty awesome sunrise. The Little Boys and Girls’ Rooms

Experimental Friday heads out to Childrens Island and this image from October of last year. I think the colors first drew me to this scene and the rotting wood at the base of the doors as well as the hand painted BOYS and GIRLS signs led me to take the picture. Curves in the Water Lead to Brown’s Island

It's Tuesday and that can only mean another Long Exposure image to share with you today (well, that and a pretty important election...). Today's image comes from the day before Superstorm Sandy arrived. I had scouted out this small discharge pipe a while ago but realized I needed an astronomical high tide to realize the image I had visualized. For good or bad, Sandy delivered on that wish. I remember when I took this photo in February that it had been prompted in large part by someone at the Reporter asking if I had any shots of Brown's (or Crowninshield) Island.
