The Harvest Moon Rises over Marblehead Harbor

I had little hope for capturing this year's Harvest moon. The thick clouds these past few days and today's rain made me think that this year's attempt would be a wash...literally. A funny thing happened at 5pm as I milled around with the kids and neighbors outside, the sun came out and the clouds disappeared. Experimental Friday – Get Your Feet Wet

I've featured a few shots on previous Fridays and am almost ready to label this an 'experimental Friday' theme. This is the floating dock at Crocker Park where I went with my son in the Summer for a swim test prior to sailing camp. It was a hot day and the cool water beckoned. I decided to focus on the ladder so that the viewer could sense that someone was just about to reach out from below and come out of the water after a refreshing dive.

Flower Boxes on Ocean Avenue

I wonder how many of my viewers will instantly recognize these three flower boxes that adorn the back of a house facing Ocean Avenue. I've passed this house numerous times and would frequently catch myself gazing at the flower boxes decorating the back section. A Sunburst Over Marblehead Harbor

Hope you're not tired of the Wednesday Sunset theme that has been going on these past few weeks. Long Exposure – Sit and Watch the Waves at Preston Beach

I told you that 'long exposure Tuesday' was back ; ) With the waves that came from an offshore storm in early September, I decided to head to Preston beach and see what I could do with the action at high tide. Tinkers Island off Marblehead Neck

In mid-August, my son and I were invited out for an impromptu fishing excursion off the rocks on Marblehead Neck. I had never been to this section of the neck previously (seeing as there are no public ways accessible) and was glad I had thought to bring my camera. As the boys scampered on the rocks looking for a fishing spot (a losing effort at dead low tide), I sought out compositions with which to frame the distant view of Tinker's Island. A Balcony View of Marblehead Harbor

Marblehead Harbor Bathed in a Red Sunset
